The Victron Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) battery charger is the new professional battery charger with integrated Bluetooth. Chargers from the Blue Smart IP22 family can be used in devices both in the workshop and in motor vehicles, such as cars (classic), motorcycles, boats, and motorhomes.

The wireless solution to monitor voltage and current, change settings, and update the charger when new features become available.

High efficiency

With an efficiency of up to 94%, these chargers generate up to four times less heat compared to industry standards. Once the battery is fully charged, consumption is reduced to 0.5 watts, five to ten times less than equipment from other manufacturers.

6-stage variable charge algorithm: check - initial charge - absorption - reconditioning - float - storage

The Victron Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) battery charger has "adaptive" battery management controlled by a microprocessor. Its "adaptive" function will automatically optimize the charging process based on battery usage.

Fully programmable charge algorithm

With the Bluetooth application, absorption, float, and storage voltages, as well as reconditioning settings and temperature compensation value, can be programmed. After enabling expert mode, the application allows you to change virtually all parameters and time limits used by the charge algorithm.

Storage mode: reduced aging and maintenance needs when the battery is not in use

The storage mode is activated when the battery has not experienced any discharge in 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for 12 V batteries) to reduce gassing and corrosion of the positive plates.

Once a week, the voltage is raised again to the absorption level to "equalize" the battery. This function prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, the main causes of premature battery failure.

Also charges lithium-ion batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are charged with a simple initial charge - absorption - float charge algorithm.

Fully discharged battery recovery function

It will start charging even if the battery has discharged to zero volts. It will reconnect to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery with the internal disconnect function.

NIGHT (night) and LOW (low) settings

When NIGHT or LOW modes are active, the output current is reduced to a maximum of 50% of the nominal output, and the Victron Blue Smart IP22 12/30 (1) charger will be completely silent. The NIGHT mode automatically ends after 8 hours. The LOW mode can be ended manually.

Overheating protection

The output current will decrease as the temperature increases up to 50 °C, but the Blue Smart charger will not fail.

VE.Smart Networking

The VE.Smart network is a wireless device-to-device (D2D) communication network between Victron products using Bluetooth Smart.

Optional battery voltage and temperature compensation and current sensor

The VE.Smart network opens up the possibility of optimizing the charging process: a Smart Battery Sense, Smart Battery Monitor, or SmartShunt can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature to one or several battery chargers. A Smart Battery Monitor or SmartShunt will also communicate battery current.

Synchronized parallel charging

Up to ten battery chargers can be synchronized in a VE.Smart network to charge the battery as if they were one large charger. The chargers will synchronize the charge algorithm between them. They will simultaneously switch from one charge state to another, for example, from initial charge to absorption.

Synchronized parallel charging has several interesting advantages:

Redundancy: if one charger stops for any reason, the other chargers will continue to operate.

Flexibility: only one charger needs to be added to the network if more current is needed.

Cost: in general, several low-power chargers will cost less than one high-power charger.

Installation: it may be easier to place several low-power chargers in a confined space.
